5 Healthy Lifestyle Hacks For The Busy Bee

You know those women, they come into a business meeting (on time) having completed their 6:00am workout looking fresh and energized. You caught the picture they posted last night of the healthy dinner they ‘whipped up’ then continue to pull out their lunch which triggers everyone to ask ‘omg, where did you get that’ only for them to smirk ever so confidently and say “I made it”.

Yeah, you know the ones.

We despise how much they’ve got their shit together yet we’d give anything to be in their shoes. Well my friend, you absolutely can. And today I’m going to give you 5 healthy lifestyle hacks for the busy bee so can not only be the badass employee/CEO/entrepreneur/mother/friend/sister/wife but the badass employee/CEO/entrepreneur/mother/friend/sister/wife whose got their healthy lifestyle on lock.

Get ready for the jealousy train to roll through except this time, you’re driving.

1. Warm Lemon Water Each Morning

The first thing I get my clients to do when wanting to up their health and weight loss efforts, is to start their day with a glass of warm lemon water.

Why?

After you’ve been sleeping for 7+ hours (hopefully!!!) it’s important to hydrate. The warm lemon water goes down easily hydrating the body along with assisting in flushing out toxins and supporting in keeping the body alkaline. This is important as an alkaline environment supports the metabolism, important actions performed by various enzymes and the immune system.

Hack:

Spend a quick 10 mins once every few days squeezing juice from fresh organic lemons. No need for a juicer or some fancy schmancy machinery. I just use a glass handheld juicer like this one which helps separate the seeds and gets the most juice for your buck.

Come morning, pour a tbsp or so into warm water (tap is fine) or keep the lemon juice at work where you have access to hot water. OR ask for a medium cup of half hot water, half cold water while you order your coffee. Add your lemon juice and enjoy before your morning cup of joe.

2. Healthy Breakfast To Go

It’s been proven, breakfast isn’t THE most important meal of the day, in fact, many people are skipping breakfast as they hop on the intermittent fasting train. HOWEVER, how you break your fast IS important. Your first meal sets the tone for the day so it’s crucial that it’s a healthy one. It is also important to know, it doesn’t have to be an extravagant, masterpiece of a recipe.

The goal is to have a balanced breakfast (consisting of carbs, fats, and proteins) to keep you energized, satiated and contains all the right ingredients to turn off your hunger hormones. This means you’re full, focused, energized and ready to rock your day!

Hack:

Ziplock Smoothie

Place your chopped and peeled solid smoothie ingredients into a zip lock bag. Come morning, empty the bag into your blender, add liquid and you’re off to the races. A part of being the busy bee boss babe is having a contagious glowing energy and if you’ve been around the past 50 odd years, you know how you eat plays a big part in that. I truly think many people have it mixed up. That eating healthy is time-consuming and you need hours in the kitchen to prep. I strongly disagree and I’m here to prove it.

5. Busy Bee’s Tip For Cutting Out Mindless Snacking.

Swap snacking for sipping with infused water

Did you know we often confuse our body’s signal for thirst as a hunger pang?

Hack:

Hack for quitting unnecessary snacking: Next time you find yourself scouring the break room or pantry mid-morning or afternoon, opt for a large glass of agua instead. Reassess in 20 minutes and if you’re still hungry break for lunch or have a healthy snack. Most of the time, you’ll find that it was either boredom or thirst that lead you to the kitchen in the first place. Plus, you’ll be supporting many of the beautifying benefits staying hydrated has to offer!

Not a fan of plain ol’ water? Place these flavor combinations in your water bottle the night before.

Cucumber Mint

Raspberry Lemon

Watermelon Lime

Grapefruit Basil
